About This Place

If you’re craving authentic Chinese takeaway with a standout focus on crab dishes, Xie Bao Flushing 蟹寶 is a must-visit culinary gem nestled at 133-35 Roosevelt Ave in Flushing, NY. Specializing in rich and indulgent crab roe creations, this spot artfully captures the essence of Chinese coastal flavors, offering an experience that goes well beyond typical takeaway fare.

The atmosphere here, while casual and perfect for quick bites or take-home indulgences, is brimming with the promise of deep umami and fresh seafood delights. At Xie Bao 蟹寶, every dish is crafted to showcase the luxurious and delicate flavor of crab roe, paired expertly with noodles, rice, or steamed dumplings to highlight the texture and richness of the ingredients.

The menu offers an impressive array of standout items that seafood lovers will find irresistible. The Crab Roe Lo Mein is a signature dish and one that truly embodies the brand’s dedication to quality. Whether you go for the Normal or the smaller Experience version, you’ll encounter fresh Chinese crab roe and tender crab meat generously layered over perfectly cooked noodles. This dish brilliantly balances the sweetness of crab roe with the earthiness of accompaniments like wood ear mushrooms, garlic slices, spiced pickled radish, edamame, and a savory marinated egg—all tied together with a drizzle of rice vinegar to elevate the fresh flavors. Reviewers have raved about the buttery, umami-packed taste that isn’t heavy or overwhelming but simply pure crab bliss.

Another fan favorite is the Crab Roe and Pork Xiao Long Bao Soup Dumplings, delicate little parcels filled with savory crab roe and pork broth that burst with flavor on the palate. These soup dumplings have been repeatedly praised by diners for their freshness and perfectly balanced richness, making them an unforgettable treat. Pair this with other specialties like the crab roe & yellow fish soup rice or the intricately crafted Crab Roe and Pork Mooncake for a complete indulgence.

For those who enjoy variety, the menu includes Half Crab, flaky crab cakes that arrive hot and fresh, as well as creative options like Zongzi (sticky rice dumplings) available with crab treasure meat or red bean fillings, adding a traditional touch to the seafood-centric offerings.

Customer experiences consistently highlight the authenticity and rich flavor profile of the dishes. One satisfied diner, Mabel Wang, was captivated by the strong crab flavor in the large crab noodles and proclaimed the crab soup dumplings as her favorite. Another guest, Connie Kwok, described the crab roe over rice or noodles as “fresh, rich, and totally unique,” emphasizing how this dish stole the show even among a variety of other stops. Ellen D’s reflection on the noodles soaking up the golden crab roe with buttery, fresh flavors echoes a common theme among patrons: every bite feels thoughtfully crafted to celebrate crab at its finest.

While some customers like K found that the crab roe over rice had a texture reminiscent of shark fin soup over rice, the majority agree that the crispy shrimp and crab spring rolls and various dumplings maintain a high standard of crispness and freshness. It’s clear that Xie Bao Flushing is a place where seafood lovers, especially those with a passion for crab, will find authentic flavors, rich textures, and a satisfying taste adventure in every order.

Whether you’re looking to savor the delicate umami of crab soup dumplings, dive into a hearty bowl of crab roe lo mein, or try the unique crab meat zongzi, Xie Bao Flushing 蟹寶 invites you to explore a specialized flavor palette that celebrates the ocean’s bounty with skill and culinary finesse. Food and service was all really good. We got the large crab noodles and small crab rice. I loved the noodles. The flavor of the crab was super strong which I enjoyed. We also got the flaky crab cakes and they were still fresh and hot. My favorite was definitely the crab soup dumplings. I would definitely come back.

Felt a little underwhelmed by the crab roe over rice - the texture and taste is like having shark fin soup over Japanese rice. The shrimp and crab spring roll was however, super crispy and full of ingredients!

Absolutely delicious crab meat! I went to their Manhattan place with friends before, and this spot in Flushing was just as impressive. My husband and I ordered three dishes and were completely satisfied The crab rice is a must-try, or choose noodles if you prefer. And love the crab soup dumplings dipped in vinegar! Oh and the crab pastry even comes in a cute little box, so delicate and adorable~~ perfectly crisp in one bite! It’s also great as a gift for friends~ It is located right at the entrance of the food court. We’ll definitely be back!

Exceptional! We came for the crab roe over rice (or you can pick noodles!) and it was outstanding—fresh, rich, and totally unique. As a seafood lover who always goes for the roe, this felt like a dream dish. My friend and I shared the small since we were getting full from other stops, and it was still plenty satisfying and the best thing we ate all day. It’s the first stall on the left when you walk in, and definitely worth seeking out. Food court setup. Bring cash for a 5% discount.

I was torn between getting the crab roe over rice or the crab roe over noodles but thankfully, we went with the noodles! They soaked up all that rich, golden crab roe perfectly. The flavor was fresh, buttery, and umami-packed without being too heavy or overpowering. You can really taste the quality of the crab roe, and the texture of the noodles complemented it so well. I didn’t get to try other items on the menu this time, but I’m definitely coming back to explore more. The guy running the place was incredibly friendly. He even offered free noodle refills, which was so kind of him.

I've been wanting to try Xie Bao for almost a year! Ordering through the kiosk is straightforward. The food isn't cheap -- we ended up spending $67 for three dishes. It was busy so they let me know it would be a 30 minute wait, which I appreciated. The large crab roe noodles are $30.99 and they aren't that large. I liked the sauce but the noodles were stuck together. It was a good dish, but I would've preferred more sauce/crab. I liked the pickles on the side. The crab roe soup dumplings were pretty good! Two of ours clearly came with a rip in them. They were not super soupy, but had good crab roe flavor. The crab buns were mostly pork, nothing special. I wouldn't get these again. Overall I'm glad I finally got to try this place! It wasn't as amazing as I had hoped, but it's worth trying at least once.
